The Today show hosts excitedly revealed on Tuesday morning that their beloved co-host and weather anchor, Al Roker, aged 68, has officially entered the realm of grandfatherhood. Al’s daughter, Courtney Roker, 36, and her husband Wesley Laga, recently welcomed their first child into the world.
The delightful addition to their family came in the form of a beautiful baby girl named Sky Clara Laga, born on Monday, July 3.
Al Roker’s Today family expressed their utmost happiness for the safe and healthy arrival of their new family member. Just last month, Courtney and Wesley celebrated their baby shower on the same day as their second wedding anniversary.
Al Roker took to Instagram to convey his well wishes to the couple, sharing a heartfelt message alongside a photo of them from the event. He wrote, “Two years ago today, these two tied the knot. Today, we celebrated the imminent arrival of their baby girl. So excited!”
Courtney also shared her joy on Instagram, posting pictures from the baby shower and expressing her gratitude for the overwhelming love surrounding her. She wore a lovely pink floral dress to commemorate the arrival of their precious baby girl and posed with loved ones in the snapshots.
Al Roker shares Courtney with his former wife, Alice Bell, with whom he was married from 1984 to 1994. Besides Courtney, Al is also a father to his son Nick Roker, 20, and his daughter Leila Roker, 24, both of whom he shares with his wife Deborah Roberts.
Back in March, Courtney announced her pregnancy on Instagram by creating a reel set to Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby.” The touching video showcased photos of Courtney and Wesley, followed by a sonogram accompanied by an acoustic version of the song by Brent Morgan.
With immense joy, Courtney captioned the post, “A new adventure is about to begin ❤️🍼.” Al Roker, unable to contain his excitement, commented, “Here we go!!! So very, very happy!!!!! You guys.”
