His daughter, Scout, shared a heartfelt message in response to the public announcement, expressing her feelings of being overwhelmed.
Last March, Willis announced his retirement from acting due to being diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects his ability to communicate effectively, making it increasingly challenging for him to work on set.
Fast forward to February 2023, and his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia became public knowledge. Needless to say, the weeks and months following the announcement have been a grueling battle for the Willis family. Now, new reports suggest they are also dealing with another difficult situation. According to Radar Online, Tallulah, Bruce’s daughter with actress Demi Moore, revealed that she struggled with anorexia following her breakup with fiancé Dillon Buss, a mere three months after her father’s aphasia diagnosis.
Since then, there hasn’t been much information available about Tallulah’s condition. However, recent claims state that Bruce himself was aware of his daughter’s suffering. A source mentioned to Radar Online, “Bruce could see her wasting away, and it only made his own problems worse,” adding, “Bruce was shattered when he saw Tallulah’s suffering.”
The insider further revealed, “It reached a point where the family thought it would be better if they stayed apart.” Tallulah herself disclosed that she sought treatment at an in-patient facility after her separation from Dillon. During her time there, she received a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder.
In a candid and recent essay for Vogue, Tallulah courageously shared her struggles with body dysmorphia, which began when she started taking medication for ADHD. She expressed, “I felt smart for the first time,” but also acknowledged the appetite-suppressant side effect of the medication. This led her down a destructive path, as she described, “I saw a way to banish the awkward adolescent in favor of a flighty little pixie. And like so many people with eating disorders, my sense of myself went haywire.”
Tallulah further explained the initial allure of rapid weight loss and the subsequent concern expressed by her friends and family. She stated, “There’s an unhealthy deliciousness at the beginning of losing weight rapidly. People are like, ‘Oh wow!’ And then quickly it turns to, ‘Are you okay?’ My friends and family were terrified, and I dismissed it.”
At the spring of 2022, Tallulah weighed approximately 84 lbs. She experienced constant coldness and relied on mobile IV teams for medical support. Walking in her Los Angeles neighborhood became challenging due to fear of not finding a place to rest and catch her breath.
