Andy Cohen is giving us a glimpse into his delightful mornings with his little girl.
On Thursday, the beloved Bravo host, aged 54, shared a heartwarming photo on his Instagram of his 13-month-old daughter, Lucy, playfully reaching for his hat. Lucy looked adorable in a matching pink Snoopy T-shirt and shorts, sporting charming pigtails. Cohen, wearing a maroon hat, a T-shirt, and a blue hat, flashed a wide grin as Lucy lovingly placed her hand on his chest. Cohen has been open about his experience as a single parent and recently appeared on the Two T’s in a Pod with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge podcast to discuss how his perspective on single parenthood has evolved since Lucy’s birth. In addition to Lucy, Cohen is also the proud father of four-year-old son Benjamin Allen.
Reflecting on his journey, Cohen shared, “The past year has been transformative for me since Lucy came into my life. It has truly changed my approach to parenting. When I had only one child, I felt much more in control. However, when I became a father of two, I wouldn’t say I lost control, but I did feel a bit more isolated. I started to experience a greater sense of vulnerability.”
Cohen went on to reveal that his emotions took a downturn during a park outing with fellow parents. “The sprinklers suddenly turned on, and I realized I hadn’t brought spare clothes,” he explained. “I looked around and realized I was the only single parent and the only gay dad present. I felt like I was on an island, and when I returned home, I couldn’t help but cry.”
In a November conversation with PEOPLE, Cohen expressed similar sentiments about his parenthood journey, emphasizing how his priorities have shifted since becoming a father of two. “I’ve chosen to spend so much more time at home with them than I ever would have in the past,” he shared. “I was never someone who enjoyed staying home, but my perspective has completely changed now.”
The proud father celebrated Lucy’s first birthday on April 29, sharing an adorable photo on Instagram where they posed together with a gold “1” balloon. The caption read, “Happy birthday, sweetheart! ❤️” The following day, Cohen posted a video on his Instagram Story, marking his daughter’s new age while sitting beside her at home.
“As we begin Lucy’s second year of life today,” the host of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen remarked as his toddler sat on his lap in pajamas, proudly showing off her two small pigtails. “I did her hair this morning, and you know what? She was such a good sport about it.”
He then turned to his smiling toddler and said, “I really feel like you understood what I was doing and let me give it a try.”
