Two deputies from the Boulder County Police were cruising along a dusty road on a beautiful sunny day. Everything seemed ordinary until their attention was caught by a minuscule creature nestled right in the middle of the path.

Highlighting the owl’s hunting habits, they mentioned its preference for dusk and dawn, employing the “sit and wait” technique to swoop down on prey from low hunting perches. They playfully speculated whether the owl was attempting to set a trap, adding to the owl’s enigmatic charm.

Accompanying the images, they wrote, “Our deputies were taken aback when they encountered this young Northern Saw-Whet Owl.
