Born in Omaha, Nebraska, on February 8, 1941, the handsome Nolte made his breakthrough in the TV miniseries “Rich Man, Poor Man” in 1976. Shortly after that, he became a household name and an American heartthrob.
Before his acting career took off, Nolte worked as a model in the 1960s. One of his most famous moments came in 1972 when he appeared alongside Sigourney Weaver for Clairol’s “Summer Blonde” hair coloring campaign, making him the first man ever to be featured on a box of women’s hair dye.

Both of his children, Sophia Lane Nolte and Brawley Nolte, were born in 1986 and have explored acting, with Sophia even starring alongside her father in “Honey in the Head.” However, Brawley has chosen a different path and is studying to become a doctor.
