In 2015, a 17-year-old boy who went missing while walking his two dogs in northwest Houston, Texas, has been found safe and alive.
Local reports confirm that Rudy Farias was discovered unresponsive near a church. He was observed to have cuts, bruises all over his body, and blood in his hair.
Currently, Rudy is undergoing recovery in a hospital, receiving necessary care and treatment.
Back in March 2015, at the age of 17, Rudy went missing, leaving his family distraught. Although his dogs were eventually found, Rudy did not return home, prompting his family to report his disappearance to the authorities.
Extensive search efforts were conducted by authorities for several days, but the search was suspended on March 10, 2015. However, after gathering more information, officials resumed the search on March 12, only to conclude it the following day.
During that time, authorities disclosed that Rudy had been dealing with depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and anxiety. It was suspected that his absence might have been due to his disorientation resulting from not taking his medication.
Now, 8 years later, on Sunday, July 2, 2023, the Texas Center for the Missing announced that Rudy had been found safe and sound.
The organization shared a message on Twitter, urging people to keep Rudy’s family in their thoughts and prayers as he recovers in the hospital.
Rudy’s mother, speaking to KTRK, expressed her belief that her son had been subjected to abuse. She mentioned that though she has attempted to communicate with her now 25-year-old son, he can only manage a few words at a time and often curls into a fetal position.
Recognizing that the road to recovery will be long for Rudy, his mother remains grateful that he returned home alive.
